A powerful bomb blast near shops in Lahore's famous Lohari Gate area has killed three people and injured several others.


Commissioner Lahore has confirmed that 3 people were killed in the blast.


According to the police, the motorcycles parked near the cylinder exploded.


The blast also shattered the windows of several buildings and severely damaged a nearby bank building.

Police, bomb disposal squad, rescue and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot.


Rescuers and firefighters put out the blaze and rushed the burn victims to a hospital.


According to the MS of Mayo Hospital, 25 injured have been brought to Mayo Hospital, out of which two injured died during treatment including a child while the condition of 4 persons is critical. Attempts are being made to save lives.


Karachi child killed in blast

The deceased child has been identified as 9-year-old Absar from Karachi.


The parents of the child Absar, who was killed in the blast, were also injured.


The other victim of the blast was identified as 31-year-old Ramzan, a resident of Lahore.


The blast occurred at 1:45:42 p.m.

The bomber struck shortly after 1:45:42 p.m., according to CCTV footage from a camera installed at the site of the blast.


The blast was caused by a time device or remote control bomb

Police say a time device or remote-controlled bomb may have exploded, prompting an investigation.


Bomb disposal squads, forensic teams and other investigators are busy gathering evidence and collecting samples.


According to rescue sources, a one and a half feet deep pit has also fallen at the site of the blast.


What did Deputy Commissioner Lahore say?

DC Lahore has directed to deploy Bomb Disposal Squad in Anarkali Bazaar.


According to the Deputy Commissioner Lahore, the blast took place at 1:45 am, the nature of which is being determined by bomb disposal, police and forensic teams.


He said that an investigation is underway, the scene of the incident is covered in Safe City security system, testing will determine whether the explosion was of a cylinder or caused by an explosive device.


Lahore blast: PM Imran Khan expresses regret

Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed regret over the loss of precious human lives in the Lahore blast.


In a statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed that immediate medical aid be provided to the injured.


Prime Minister Imran Khan also demanded a report of the incident from the Punjab government.


Condemnation of blast of Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz

PML-N President, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Mian Shahbaz Sharif and his niece, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz have condemned the blast at Anarkali Bazaar Lohari Gate.


Separate statements issued by the two leaders condemned the blast.


PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has said that he was deeply saddened over the loss of precious lives in the Anar Kali blast.


He offered condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the recovery of the injured.


Maryam Nawaz also condemned the blast in Anarkali Bazaar and said that 3 people including a child were killed and many others were injured in the blast. May Allah have mercy on Pakistan.


Condemnation of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's bomb blast

Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the bomb blast in Lahore.


Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while expressing his condolences to the families of those killed in the blast said that after the martyrdom of police officers in Islamabad, now the blast in Anarkali is a matter of concern.


He said that terrorism was getting out of control in the country and Prime Minister Imran Khan did not have the capacity to solve any crisis.


Chaudhry brothers strongly condemn Lahore blast

The PML-Q leader Chaudhry Brothers has strongly condemned the blast at Anarkali Bazaar in Lahore.


In a statement, PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain demanded that those who disturbed the peace be arrested and punished.


Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has demanded immediate best medical aid to the injured.


PML-Q leader Chaudhry Monis Elahi has said that Allah Almighty should forgive the dead and give speedy recovery to the injured.
