Violence against Kashmiri students in Indian colleges after shocking defeat by Pakistan

Jammu and Kashmir Student Association spokesman Nasir Kahwahimi said in a Twitter message, "Kashmiri students who were tortured in Sangrar and Kharar told me that students from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana broke into their rooms." He was beaten and tortured.
He also shared photos of the students who were tortured in a tweet.
Nasir Kahwihami also said that the authorities were threatening to file a case against Kashmiri students for revealing the name of the college where the violence took place.
On the other hand, former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Omar Abdullah also said in a Twitter message that he was saddened to hear about the incidents of physical and verbal attacks against some Kashmiri students in Punjab colleges.
At the same time, he said that the Punjab Chief Minister has directed the police to look into the matter and assure the students studying in Punjab about their safety.
In a video from Sangrar College, students said security guards allowed a group of students from UP to enter their rooms and torture them.
According to the newspaper report, Punjab police officials later reached the college and talked to Kashmiri students.
A senior police official said that 90 Kashmiri and 30 UP students are studying in the college and after the match, UP and Bihar students entered the rooms of Kashmiris and started fighting.
According to the report, SSP Sangrar claimed that both the parties have apologized to the college administration and police this morning and the matter has been resolved.
However, Nasir Kahwihami said he had talked to students who had been tortured and had denied any apology.
In Mohali Kharar, after the Pak-India match, four Kashmiri students were tortured by thugs from Haryana.
