An order for Tesla cars from a car rental company resulted in the greatest increase in the wealth of any billionaire in a single day.


Yes, Elon Musk, founder of the American technology company Tesla and SpaceX, has amassed a record $36 billion (over 63 trillion Pakistani rupees) in a single day.


According to a Bloomberg report, the rental company Hertz ordered 100,000 Tesla vehicles, which resulted in a 14.9% increase in the company's share price.


As a result, Elon Musk, who owns a 23% stake in Tesla, grew his fortune by 36.2 billion to a record  $289 billion.


Earlier, the record for the richest person in a single day was set in 2020 by Chinese billionaire Zong Shan Shan, whose wealth increased by  $32 billion in one day.


Two-thirds of Elon Musk's assets are directly linked to Tesla shares and other options.


Last year, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk competed to become the richest man in the world, and both came in first and second respectively.


But now Elon Musk has a big lead over Jeff Bezos and the founders of Amazon are second with $193 billion and far behind.


Elon Musk has made $119 billion in one year and is thought to be the first person to make 1 trillion.


The rise in Tesla's share price has raised the value of the electric car maker to trillions of dollars.


Bernard Arnault of France is third with $163 billion, Bill Gates is fourth with $134 billion and Google co-founder Larry Page is fifth with $123 billion.
